FAQ — Vouches & Reputation

A vouch is a one-click rating — positive or negative — that another player leaves on your profile after trading with you or using one of your services. Vouches are the building block of your reputation on PoEden: they determine your reputation tier and your position in the monthly ranking.

Unlike Discord-based vouch bots, vouches here are stored permanently in our database and shown directly on profiles, listings, and the ranking — no third-party server required.

There's no "Leave Vouch" button on profiles — vouching only happens after you've actually whispered someone from Services. Once the trade plays out, resolve that whisper in the sidebar:

• Thumbs up — one click, no comment. It counts +1 toward their reputation.
• Thumbs down — you must write a comment (up to 500 characters) explaining what happened. Negatives without an explanation are rejected.

The player is notified immediately about who vouched and, for negatives, what the comment says.

• No self-vouching. You cannot vouch for your own account.
• One vouch per player. You can vouch for each account exactly once, ever — resolving a later whisper to the same person no longer affects their reputation. This prevents a single person from farming (or tanking) someone's reputation.
• Negatives require a reason. A negative vouch without a written comment is rejected by the server, not just the UI.
• Positives never carry comments. Comment text sent with a positive vouch is discarded — comments exist to document problems, not to advertise.
• Rate limiting. Vouch submissions are rate-limited per IP. Attempting to spam vouches returns an error and slows you down.
• Rotating aliases. Marketplace, vouch, and ranking names appear as a new Exile number on each load, even while logged in. The real in-game account is revealed only when you press Whisper.

Your lifetime vouch count and rating place you in a reputation tier. The tier controls how you read across the whole site:

• Tier colors. Your name is framed and colored by tier on listings, your profile, and the ranking, so buyers can judge a seller at a glance.
• Who gets whispered. Two sellers offering the same carry at the same price are told apart by their tier — that's the whole point of carrying one.

Beast is the penalty tier: if your rating drops below the Wanderer threshold, you land there regardless of how many vouches you have.

The Ranking page has separate Provider and Buyer tabs. Providers are ordered by monthly reputation points:

points = positive vouches − (negative vouches × 5)

• Counters reset at the start of every calendar month — everyone starts the month at zero.
• A negative vouch costs five times what a positive earns, so a bad month is hard to hide.
• Only players with at least one vouch in the current month appear in the ranking.
• Your lifetime totals (total vouches, rating, tier) are never reset — only the monthly race is.

The Buyer tab instead rewards follow-through: it orders buyers by unique sellers for whom they completed positive or negative feedback, then by unique sellers contacted and total whispers. Repeated whispers to one seller count once for the first two metrics, and replies to buy requests are excluded. Buyer activity never changes reputation or tiers.

No. Vouches are attached to your account, not to a league or realm — your reputation follows you across league resets and between PoE 1 and PoE 2.

Since each player can only vouch for you once, a single retaliatory negative has limited weight — and a negative costs five times what a positive earns, so your history of positives outweighs it over time. The reputation system is fully self-managing: there's no manual review or dispute process for individual vouches. If you got an unfair negative, the fastest fix is earning new positives, not contesting the old one.
